General Information:

The Shire of Narrental invites you to the 30th anniversary of our annual event - Clown Tourney! There will be a host of activities and the annual Courtiers Tournament.

Event Information

Swap Table: There will be a "swap table" for folks to destash art supplies, fabrics, gently used garb, armor, et cetera. If your closets are as overflowing as ours, please consider sharing the wealth.

Attention

For those who will be bringing children not their own: There are TWO forms that you will need to bring for each child. They both need to be signed by the child's parent or legal guardian. ONE MUST BE NOTARIZED per Indiana law.

1) This form needs the notarization and should be kept with the child at all times: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/treatminor-notary.pdf

2) This form is the usual Minor Waiver: http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/chldwaiv.pdf.

PLEASE have both these forms filled out and signed/notarized where appropriate for each child you will be bringing that you are not the parent or legal guardian of. This requirement is out of our control and the children affected will not be allowed to attend if they are not completed properly before arrival. Thank you.

DICE CHESS RULES

  1. Pieces move and capture in normal manner, except castling and capturing via en passant are not allowed.
  2. The object of the game is to capture the opponent's king. Check and checkmate are irrelevant.
  3. On each turn, player rolls one six-sided die. Result of die roll indicates which type of piece must be moved:
    • one-pawn;
    • two-rook;
    • three-knight;
    • four-bishop;
    • five-queen;
    • six-king.
  4. If a player cannot move the type of piece indicated by the die roll (eg. On the first turn only pawns and knights will be able to move), then player must pass without moving . . . unless (see Rule 5).
  5. The exception to Rule 4 is that if a player no longer has any of the pieces in play indicated by the roll of the die (eg. A three is rolled but both knights have already been captured) then the player must still move a piece BUT may move ANY one of his or her pieces still in play.
